My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE WRITE-UP. It has all the info on Marley & explains our adoption process. We require a completed adoption application if you're interested in any of our dogs. The adoption app link is contained below in the write-up.

Marley is approx. 2.5 years old; he weighs 5.3 lbs. We rescued this adorable Yorkshire Terrier mix male from a terrible home. His original owners say they found him on the streets when he was a tiny puppy. They kept him, & for whatever reason, they thought he needed to have a tooth removed. They couldn't afford a vet so they pulled it using pliers. Marley's jaw was broken in the process. Marley lived with this for months! In spite of being in terrible pain, this little angel is happy & as sweet as he can be. Our vet discovered his condition when he put Marley under anesthesia to perform a dental, neuter, & to microchip him. The broken jaw was repaired surgically & Marley will need to keep the wires in place for the next 2 months to give the bones a chance to heal & mesh together. If it heals well, he'll be fine & will stay on soft foods for the rest of his life. If it doesn't heal properly, he'll need special surgery by an orthopedic surgeon. He'll be rechecked by our vet after 2 months (approx Dec. 4). Please keep Marley in your prayers.

**Update** Marley saw the vet today for a recheck on his broken jaw. Unfortunately, it hasn't healed as firmly as the vet would like. He's going to give it another month. If it doesn't heal firmly enough, we must get donations to pay for the $2,500 surgery as the rescue is out of funds for something this expensive.

Marley is great with other small dogs & cats. He's very loving to people; he's gentle, very sweet, & has an excellent temperament. Marley is potty trained (goes outside) & loves to go for walks. Marley is neutered, dewormed, current on vaccines, microchipped, & has been fully groomed. This little guy is a special dog who deserves a special home. Marley's adoption donation is $375 & includes his lifetime microchip registration cost. If you're interested in adopting Marley, click here Adoption Guidelines to review our adoption criteria & complete an adoption application. Homes with young children will not be considered for Marley. He also requires a home with at least 1 other small, young K9 friend (not more than 7 lbs. & not older than 4.5 years old). Thank you for helping Marley & for choosing to adopt!
