Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Annie is equally beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is 3/4 German Shorthaired Pointer and 1/4 Brittany Spaniel. (Also pictured here are Annie's mommy and daddy, Holly and Clyde. As you can see, good looks run in this family!) Annie was born on 10/18/05, so she is a little over a year old. She weighs about 40 lbs. and is full-grown. Annie has a beautiful liver and white coat and is the spitting image of her mom, although a little smaller. She is a very smart girl and has the capacity to learn a great deal. Annie's adopters will need to be willing to participate with her in positive reinforcement-based obedience training. It would be a shame not to make the most of those smarts! Annie is agile and graceful when she runs outdoors. She loves the fresh air, loves to play-wrestle with other dogs and is a world-class squirrel chaser. As far as small dogs, however, she is just fine. In fact, the teacup Chihuahuas in Annie's foster home regularly boss her around. When out in the back yard, Annie is on perpetual squirrel patrol. When she assumes her "Pointer Stance", she is majestic looking. In addition to needing a large back yard to run around in, Annie's new mom and dad will need to be willing to do the power-walk or jog with her, every single day, to help satisfy her energy level and need to "check stuff out". As much as she enjoys the great outdoors, Annie is most definitely an indoor dog and truly loves to be a member of the family...lounging on the cough for a snooze, curling up next to her person to watch movies, enjoying the occasional bite of roast beef or chicken that her foster mom sneaks to her. Annie is a well-socialized dog. She gets along great with men, women and is wonderful with children. Annie also welcomes visitors to the home with a wagging tail. Basically, she's an equal opportunity buddy. Annie is also in excellent health. She is spayed, current on shots, wormed, heartworm-negative and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Our $175 adoption fee helps offset the cost of Annie's vet visit. Annie's new family will need to be willing to make a life-long commitment to her (which could easily be another 14 to 15 years). For the person willing to provide Annie with the things she needs to be fulfilled and well-balanced, you couldn't ask for a more delightful, loving dog to share your life with. **Applicants for Annie must have a verifiable history with a vet.** If you are interested in giving Miss Annie a loving, forever home, please complete our application today: www.tassieshope.org
