My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boo Berry is a handsome 4 year old who weighs 69 pounds. He is in great health and has a shiny black coat. Boo Berry was a stray to the shelter and seems to be a bit of an escape artist, so a watchful eye and fencing would probably be his best bet to staying home. Boo Berry gets along well with other dogs. He is a mellow, shy boy who loves gentle attention. Boo Berry is a total sweetheart with an irresistibly cute face. Approved for kids 10+.

Latest update from foster: Boo Berry is a great young dog, He is energetic and happy. He is a great dog, is fabulous on leash, and we are working on having him respond off leash. He take treats very gently and enjoys them! Boo can be calm in the house, or run and play. He will bark when he needs to go out, and is very good and will sit down to get his leash on. While doing house work, he is happy to watch or follow, and is too cute! If I’m washing dishes/cooking etc, he will lay down, cross his paws and watch with such interest! He is such a happy little boy! He is so happy when I get home from work! His butt-end just goes back and forth! So happy! He isn’t a big kisser but out of nowhere here is a kiss. Mostly in the morning like good morning I’m so happy that you’re awake!

Boo does great at bed time. He likes to come cuddle for a little while but then heads to the dog bed. A few nights he slept all night on my bed, but mostly he will go get on a dog bed. He loves to get the squeaky balls! He is great meeting new people. Two friends of mine came by and he just charmed them! He responded to all of their commands and stopped to get a good petting from both of them! Boo is beautiful, wonderful size, beautiful coat, beautiful teeth, great stance. He is lovely. He is so happy and goofy, jumping on his toys, and prancing around so proud of himself! Come meet him!

Update from foster: Boo Berry has great energy and does wonderful in the house. I keep him on a retractable leash for now as he will jump our 4 foot fence and this boy loves to run! He loves to retrieve! He loves to dig through the toy box for the 'right' ball, and if they squeak! Oh man that's so much better! Boo will watch me cook and clean, he will avoid the vacuum cleaner but he isn't afraid of it. He barks if he needs to go out, and sleeps through the night no problem, he is very good with my dominant dog. He is good at letting you know he wants to play or needs to go out. Boo Berry does not like to be crated does he seem to need it. He takes treat very gently. He is a happy doggie, who is well socialized! He walks wonderfully on leash, he responds to all the basic commands and rides wonderfully in the car. He is a wonderful cuddle bug, but gets his fill and goes to find his own space. He is great while I'm at work, and he is just a happy dog. He will make for a wonderful companion, and he is smart, so it's fun to work with him and watch him think.

Update from foster: Boo Bear is a happy doggie. He does awesome on leash. He loves his treats and knows that he has to sit to get one. Boo Berry loves to retrieve! He loves to run! He is a ball junkie, and prefers a ball to any other toy. He sometimes plays with two balls at once. Boo is great inside, and let's you know when he needs a little one-on-one love. He'll start by sitting in front you of, then putting one paw up, then the second until he is sitting back on his two legs, it is quite amusing. At bed time, he likes to cuddle, and after about 15-20 minutes he gets down. He has great house manners. He will come check out what you're doing when you're eating but he will just lay by us. He is happy to see what you're doing, so he can follow from room to room, but he is happy enough to hang out while you're busy. He responds well to sit, down, no, and of course 'Boo'. Boo does great in the car, and seems very well socialized. He's a good boy with a smooch-worthy face, and such a life loving personality! Boo will jump a 4 foot fence so a 6 foot fence or no fence/leash lifestyle is required.

Update from foster: Boo Berry likes to run, he likes to sit next to his people, he likes his
food and toys just fine, and he is a goofy boy. He has found joy in squeaky toys! He will come curl up with you on the couch, he came and laid next to me on my bed the first night, but choose to sleep outside the bedroom door in the hallway for majority of the night. He laid down while I watched some television and snoozed, he also said with me in the kitchen while cooking, he didn't beg, he just laid there and hung out. Boo Berry is a smaller lab, so he takes a wee-bit less space on the couch! He learns pretty quick, so some training would do wonders. He can jump a 4ft fence but My lab 'herded' him back. Once she was out, he came and ran with her right back into the yard. He is so happy, but he does these huge sad puppy eyes! He is good on a leash and inside, zero accidents, which include during the day. I believe that Boo Berry dislikes crates so I left him out with no problems! He is quiet during sleeping time, and happy to see you at the end of the day. He is very enduring, I think at this age he is perfect, he can be super active outside, and lay right down inside.
