My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

John Henry is a doll but he does have a few quirks that have become habit and I beieve could be corrected with patience. When John came to us he was in terrible pain. Although he would allow the children to play and hug on him despite the pain he would not allow another dog too close because it always seemed to get him hurt during play...he learned to "snarl" them away from him...anotehr issue was food...because it took him so long to eat and he had trouble eating from a bowl he was fed on a flat surface where he would lay almost on top of his food to eat...he was slow and sometimes the other dogs would try to steal his food so he would again "snarl" them back...he was also very emaciated when he came to us. Now he is through pain we believe and does much better in interacting with the other dogs....he is a mama's boy and wants all the attention himself sometimes! He is VERY good with kids...interested in cats just not so sure what if anything he should do with them... John Henry's defect could be fixed with surgery..however we do not have the means in rescue - he can also live the way he is now that his growing is about finished and the pain is no longer there. As y ou will see in the photos John Henry's muzzle is crooked and some of his adult teeth have not come all the way through or have not come in at all. Estimated DOB: 2/23/11
