My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Hara and I'd like to tell you a little about my past so you know more about me. I am a 6 year old Husky mix, but if you saw me before Chain of Hope rescued me, you wouldn't recognize me. Chain of Hope came across me one day while they were doing outreach. I barely had any hair on my body, I couldn't stop itching, and I was covered in sores and parasites. I was very skinny and not long in this world. Thank goodness for Chain of Hope. I was originally diagnosed with mange, but the medicines were just not making me better. I would just lay in my crate and itch constantly. I was on three different treatment plans, but nothing seemed to heal me completely. I ended up going to a specialist at Mission MedVet where I was diagnosed with a severe yeast and bacteria infection of the skin. My body was just so frail from living in terrible conditions and not being fed properly that it couldn't keep the normal bacteria and yeast on my skin under control. With the help of all the loving volunteers at Chain of Hope and my new treatment plan, I am a completely different dog today. I don't itch anymore, my hair has almost grown completely back in, and I am at a normal body weight. I am currently in a foster home where I enjoy hanging out in the backyard sunning with the other dogs. At night I like to curl up in my bed next to my new dog friends. I don't have a mean bone in my body. I get along with everyone, I even have a cat friend. I am house and crate trained. Sometimes I get a wild hair and like to play or even chase a ball. I'm finally learning what it's like to be a dog that is loved and cared for. I am currently heartworm positive and getting ready to start my treatment. I have had a long battle to get back to being healthy, but now I am ready to find my forever home! My adoption fee is $150. If you would like to adopt me please fill out an adoption app at www.chainofhopekc.org under the adoptions page or email us at cohadoptions@gmail.com for more info
