TiVo is a 4 year old neutered male. . He is approximately 64 pounds. TiVo knows 'sit' , 'look' , 'come', 'down', 'sit stay' and ''down stay'. He has also learned 'dead' and "over" for rollover.
Tivo is good-natured, affectionate, strong, alert, sociable with people, a natural guardian and a great playmate. Like most catahoula's TiVo is territorial.
TiVo was rescued from a place where he was kept in a 2ft by 4 ft crate all day and was only let out to go potty once or twice a day. We now have TiVo in a much better environment. He is in the house most of the time, he is walked two times a day with another two 'potty breaks' in the yard.
TiVo is basically a quiet guy who gets along with adults and with children. He can play with some other dogs but the introductions must be done very carefully. He should go to a home where he will be the only pet. He is not good with cats. Since TiVo has a strong prey drive we are reccommending a home that does not have an infant or child under 2 yrs, just as a precaution.
TiVo bonds with his people and can be a good protector. He is very attentive and tries to understand what you want him to do. TiVo enjoys being in the yard while you work out there but he is an inside dog. He has delicate skin, fleas and flying insects bother him and this can cause his skin to break out. Tivo prefers not to walk on wet grass, and will choose to walk on the street or sidewalk rather than a wooded path.
What is missing in TiVo's life is a family of his own. Below you can see TiVo wishing as hard as he can for a family to love him.
TiVo is a very loyal dog. He can play hard so he should not be in a home where there is anyone who is frail that he may bump into while playing.
He is walking beautifully on his leash, but his handler needs to be on the alert because if TiVo sees a cat, dog, squirrel, or any other prey type animal, he will want to run after it. He also lunges after bicycles and (unfortunately) just about anything else that has wheels, including strollers, motorcycles and trucks.
This boy is a true love. He will be just right for the right family.
