My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suzie Q was Aiden’s sister at Athens Animal Control. Aiden had caught our eye first, but we nevertheless decided that we couldn’t only take one sibling and leave the other one behind! She, also, probably has some pit bull in her. However, she does not fall into ANY of their negative stereotypical categories!

She is extremely happy and wiggly, and she wormed her way into her foster mom’s heart within minutes of having her home. She is extremely intelligent, and within 2 days of bringing her home, she already knew “sit,” “wait,” and “down,” although “down” is still kind of touch and go sometimes. But, hey, who can blame her? She is just under 4 months old and had only had 2 days of training that we know of! On her very first walk, she was only corrected a handful of times before she walked politely next to her foster Mom the rest of the way (for about 2 miles!). She loved meeting new people on her walk, and wiggles up to them the same way she does with her foster Mom.

Suzie Q settles down nicely into her crate, and can make it through the night without any accidents! When she is left alone, she won’t even whine. She sits and waits politely at doors and in her crates, although the concept of waiting for food is one that she has not quite figured out yet. She can eat in the same room as her foster siblings without a problem: everybody just dives in to their own bowl. Speaking of her foster siblings, she has 3, and has been able to play nicely with all of them. She wrestles with them, they play tug-of-war together, and she has even been caught chewing on one end of a bone while her foster sibling chews on the other!

Suzie Q really is the quintessential puppy. The puppy breath, puppy belly, and happy wiggles are all there. She needs someone who can look past the “tough girl” image that she may have when she gets a little older and appreciate just how intelligent and sweet this girl is. So far, what we are seeing from her is a fantastic little puppy who will be extremely well-rounded and will fit well into any type of home, as long as they shower her with the love that she wants!
