June 26 - update from Star's foster mom!:

Star LOVES long walks. She is a totally different dog once you snap on a leash. She is much more outgoing with a leash and enjoys sharing her adventures with Kali and Niki.

Star plays well with my girls and likes to sneak stuffed toys to her little corner. On a couple of occasions she furnished her crate with new accessories--a slipper and a Nylabone. She will tuck them under her bedding so it's her hidden treasure. She doesn't mind grooming and enjoys it as long as a yappy dog isn't bugging her while she's getting her spa treatment.

Star enjoys sharing popcorn and will greet you with a kiss. She enjoys laying close to me whether I'm watching tv or reading. She enjoys sharing Kali's bed with her--particularly in the mornings when EVERYONE is on Kali's bed.

Star is still unsure about men and takes awhile to warm up to them.

New pics, taken 6/27! As you can see, Star enjoys playing with Niki, her foster sister :)

May 22 - New pics (the first 2)! Star has completed heartworm and ehrlichia treatment and has been spayed. An update to her bio from her new foster mom is coming soon!

March 14, 2007 - Meet Star! Star is a sweet, gorgeous, 5 year old female. She landed in a shelter after being on her on for a while, and needed to come to rescue to learn to trust people.

Star is very shy, and is timid in new situations and when meeting new people. She comes around nicely once she's comfortable, but does need time to adjust. We will be working with her and helping her learn to trust over the coming weeks.

Star is utd on routine vaccinations and flea/tick prevention. Unfortunately, she did test positive for heartworm disease as well as erhlichia, and will begin treatment early next week. She will be spayed as soon as she has recovered, and will be available for adoption once she has a clean bill of health.

Please Click Here to fill out an application. This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until this has been completed and received.

Star must go to an indoor home where she will be an important part of the family. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.

Note: Mid-South Shepherd Rescue is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter location. Our dogs are kept in foster homes as part of a family, to help prepare them for transition into their forever homes. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please contact us by clicking on the email address to your right. We will be glad to make arrangements for a meeting.
