My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1/14/12 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $200

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 10 years

Weight: 7 lbs.

11/23/11 - Hello. I’m Oscar. The nice people at Yorkie Haven Rescue took me in when my previous family thought I needed a more stable household. Seems I don’t care for small children and there was one of those in my previous home. Well, since I’ve been in my foster home, they’ve tested me for heartworms (proud to say I’m negative), had my teeth cleaned (proud of my 4 remaining pearly whites-don’t hate, you’ll lose some of your teeth with age too), had me microchipped (safety first) and ....WHOA, what’s this? How did this happen? I’ve been neutered. Did I sign one of those consent form things for that. I wonder what else they took from me during my little nap.

Since I’ve checked in here, I’ve done very well on my potty training and foster mom and dad have come to realize that, despite my age, I am a rather curious and spry young gentleman. I love going for walks with my foster parents and their two poodles and I've never met a stranger. I’ll stop on a dime to let people pet me, and I love to sniff and observe everything on my walk. I also love to go for car rides and after I’ve gazed out the passenger window to view my surroundings, I settle down quite nicely and enjoy being chauffered.

I like to be held and will lean my head against your chest or shoulder for a good snuggle when in your arms. You might not be able to tell from the picture, but since I do not have a full set of teeth, my little tongue sticks out oh-so-delicately. Because of this, I would be the perfect pup to help you when it comes to mail since I can lick all the envelopes and stamps.

I get along well with the pups where I’m staying. I am neither dominant nor aggressive. My meals consist of softened food (kibble pre-soaked with water) since that is easier for me to swallow without too much chewing. A home without small children would be best because of my size, age and stress level.

I am looking for a permanent home where someone is either retired or semi-retired and has the time and love to give to me. I know I deserve it and I am positive that someone out there will fulfill my wish. I didn’t make it to 10 years of age to be in a foster home with no family of my own to love and cherish.
