Madeline is a very sweet little 3-yr-old parti poodle who weighs 11 lbs; she's a bit underweight and should weigh about 14 lbs (we're working on it!). Her hair was very tangled and matted when we first got her (as you can see in her "before" photo) so we had to cut her hair short. We weren’t quite sure what we were going to find under all that matted mess, but Madeline's markings are unique and beautiful and her non-shedding coat is very soft. This beautiful long-legged poodle girl will be absolutely stunning when her hair grows out.
Madeline is everything a lady should be -- gentle, sweet and loving. Unfortunately, those are not the best qualities for a shelter dog. We found Madeline in a kennel in the back of a high-kill shelter where she was placed because the aggressive dogs were picking on her. We were drawn to her immediately because of her sweet and loving nature. Madeline is a gentle soul who wants nothing more than to be close to you and be the object of your affection. Good food and occasional treats are nice, too, since Madeline needs to gain some weight. In spite of all she's been through, when offered food or a treat she accepts it from your hand very politely and gently.
Madeline gets along great with kids and other dogs; we haven't seen her around cats yet, but we think she would be fine with them as well.
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, current on vaccinations, microchipped, groomed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, and come with a collar, leash, ID tag, and puppy kisses from the lucky dog you take home!
