My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In early 2007, the husband of a Tassie's Hope volunteer was driving down a highway in Fannin County behind a late-model Lexus. He watched as the passenger-side window was lowered. Horrified and shocked, he saw a fluffy, young puppy get thrown out of the window of the moving car. The car kept going down the highway, as if the occupants had merely tossed out a cigarette butt. Now that they had unburdened themselves of this "inconvenience", they apparently had better things to do with their day. Their discarded "trash" - a beautiful, female puppy, darted back across all lanes of the highway, before the onlooker was able to stop his truck and run to her. She was terrified, bewildered and probably had no comprehension of what had just happened to her. Thank God she had an angel looking out for her. He was just disguised as a regular guy. Fortunately, he was able to get to this little girl before she was hit by a car or became lost in the woods nearby. He took her home with him, where her life was about to take a turn for the better. This is Maddie's story. We wish we could tell you that Maddie's story is rare, but the reality is that this type of thing happens every day. We are committed to making sure that Maddie's story has a very happy ending. Speaking of happy, when you meet Maddie you would never be able to tell that she had ever been in such a bad situation. She is the happiest, friendliest, most loving little girl you could imagine. While we are calling Maddie a Keeshond mix, we can only take a guess as to her breed mix. Maddie has a gorgious, thick, fluffy coat that will require an occasional groom to keep it healthy. She looks like she will be a fairly large dog when full-grown. Maddie's $175 adoption fee will help offset the cost of 3 rounds of puppy boosters, worming, vet exam and spay surgery. Maddie is also on monthly heartworm prevention. After Maddie's frightening past, you can imagine how important it is to us that we find this sweet little girl a very special, forever home. We want Maddie to have nothing short of a stable, happy future.
