My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival Story: Our sweet little Clarabelle comes with a sad story. She and her sisters were born in what was most likely a hoarding situation. All the puppies came into rescue blind but the vets don't think they were born that way. They think that due to the poor conditions they lived in, they all developed severe eye infections even before their eyes were opened, which forced the infection under the lense and created scar tissue, making them blind. A sweet woman who had heard about the litter took them from the hoarder and then contacted rescue for help. To better socialize the pups, it was decided to split them amongst 3 rescue groups, including Faithful Friends.
Age / Weight: Clarabelle is estimated to be 11-12 weeks old and is approx. 6 lbs. It is thought they are Chihuahua mixes - possibly with Dachshund. She has already seen a vet and just to double check her prognosis, will be seen by a vet who specializes in optometry on 11/21/11.

Personality Description: Clarabelle came to her foster very scared and would scream if anyone touched her or if another dog bumped her. In just 4 short days though, she has become a different dog. She is quickly figuring out how to get around in the home and is bravely venturing into new territory every day! She LOVES being with the other older dogs and her humans now! She does 95% of her potty business outside when taken out for consistent potty breaks and when she does have a mess, it's on her potty pad! She's so very smart!! She loves snuggling with her foster mom and will follow her foster mom's voice until she reaches her feet and then begs to be picked up and cuddled! Ideal Forever Home: Obviously, Clarabelle is a more special needs dog but already we can tell, she will adjust to a new home if given time and patience. A home without small children is mandatory. Clarabelle cannot see and small children don't always manuver well on their own. Because of how she listens and learns from other dogs, a home with another friendly dog would be preferable. Please give her a chance! you wont' be sorry!! How to Adopt This Dog? Click here to download our pre-adoption application Please return the application at your convenience to ffarboard@gmail.com.
