My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marshall - male, vet checked, altered, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, heartworm tested (-), dewormed, tx flea preventative, ~6-8yr, ~50lbs, Black Lab mix (possibly Pointer).

We are always devastated and sad to see mature boys like Marshall dumped at a pound where the likelihood of him being adopted is slim to nil. Larger and older black dogs lake this gentle soul are forever over looked and often euthanized.

Marshall has been spared the fate of most mature black dogs and has been whisked to the safety of a 4 Legged Love foster home where he will rest easy waiting for his Forever Home. We’d love nothing more than to see this gentle boy be in a loving, warm Forever Home this holiday season. We can’t figure out how such a nice dog nearly ended up dead, alone and abandoned in a pound. Marshall is house trained and crate trained though he doesn’t really need a crate. He is good with other dogs, cats and respectful kids. He is a mellow guy that still loves to get outdoors for his daily bit of exercise. He is a relatively low maintenance kinda pooch that really just asks for his daily loving, good food and a good daily walk. He loves people and is a loyal social dog. He’d be a great companion on his own or with another dog. He is nicely mannered and don’t his age deter you from teaching him new tricks! If you are looking for an easy going companion passed all the crazy puppy antics then you need to consider this guy. He’d love to accompany you to a pet friendly work place or snooze on a doggy bed at home until you return. A good romp at the park and a car ride are on Marshall’s list of “Fun Things To Do”. If you’ve gotta a cottage for Marshall to lounge at during the summer then you could be his match made in heaven. He isn’t all couch potato and bummin’ though, this “young at heart” mature boy still likes a good run around outside each day. This sweet, mild mannered easy going boy would love to be play ball with or laying at your feet right now! We think Marshall would be happiest in a house with a fenced yard.

If you are interested in being considered to adopt a pet please submit a 4 Legged Love Adoption Application. An application must be submitted before an appointment can be made to meet/adopt a pet.
