My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frank is a fantastic Boxer! Somehow this friendly fella found himself picked up as a stray in a small shelter with limited space. He is around a year old. ROAR fell in love with that smooshed up face the moment we saw him on the plea for rescues. We just had to get him safe. He was treated for some hair loss and it has come back in beautifully. Frank has natural ears and tail which he uses to show his feelings of joy!

Frank is a friendly guy. He has not met anyone yet he doesn't adore. When being introduced to the resident dogs at his foster home, one of the crotchety senior dogs started play bowing to him right away! She could tell he had a good, playful nature. He does love to play with other dogs. Outside he plays games of chase. Inside, he wrestles. I am afraid he has gotten a boo boo on his big lip from wrestling. Frank has a great deal of enthusiasm. He goes into boxing mode easily with people as well as dogs. For this reason, we want him to have a home with no children under the age of 6. When told to "calm down", Frank does so by standing sideways, leaning against my legs to get a petting. Frank knew "sit" when he arrived, although he always sat on our feet with his back against our legs. A nice way to warm your feet on a cold winter day. He now knows a proper "sit" in front, stay (can do a complete stay circle around him and put his food bowl on the floor and he will hold the stay), come with a sit in front at the end, down, and is learning down-stay for his meals. Frank also walks well on leash. He of course performs better for treats than without, but does love a good neck scratching for a reward as well.

If you are ready for some Boxer enthusiasm, Frank is the perfect dog! He does not chew things that do not belong to the dogs. As a matter of fact, he gets play started with the other dogs by flaunting a toy around. He does indeed snore. He doesn't drool or slobber much. He would love to snuggle on the sofa, but understands that in his foster home, only certain furniture is available to the dogs.

Frank will not be available to go to his new home until 1/7. He has to visit the vet for his heartworm test and neuter before he can go home. However, we are accepting Applications for him now and would love to have him select his forever home.

Adoption Fee is $350 (includes deworming, microchip with free registration, age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, 30 days of health insurance). Any donation above the adoption fee is appreciated and helps us continue to rescue dogs.
