My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: Becca is doing terrific, she's happy and eating well, and healing quickly from her neglect. She is at the vet today for a checkup and hopefully will get a clean bill of health!

Becca was found by animal control standing in the middle of a busy street in Broken Arrow. Her owner was happy to find she was safe at the shleter but then never showed up to claim her and Becca found herself out of time at the shelter.

let me start by saying thank you to the owner for NOT coming to claim her, as owners like you don't deserve to ever own a pet!! This poor gal was so terribly neglected that I could hardly believe my eyes when I went to the shelter to access her. She was so stressed that her teeth chattered and yet she continued to try to offer me her paw through the kennel. It was obvious this poor gal had major skin issues and hair loss where she had chewed herself raw, she was limping one a rear leg and I could see all of her rear dew claws were terribly embedded! I could also see that she had obviously spent her life confinded as she had chewed on the kennel so much all of her top and bottom teeth were worn all the way to the root and her canines worn down and broken as well.

We knew we had to save this sweet gal so I sprung her from the shelter and she drung me out of there with literally a smile on her face. I took her directly to the vet office where they did a full medical accessment. Becca did test postive for sarcoptic mange with secondary bacterial and yeast infections. She has been started on treatment and received a much needed medicated bath. Her embedded nails were cut out and on antibiotics to clear up the infection on her rear paws. With her embedded nails removed her limp went away!

When the foster mom and I went to pick Becca up she was already a different dog, smiling from ear to ear, no more teeth chattering from stress, she was so happy and lively wanting to greet and love on everyone at the vet office. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her but this sweet gal will pull through! If you would be willing to help with Becca's extensive medical needs please make a donation to her at our website: www.wix.com/gprofok/gpr

Please check back for updates on Becca's progress!
