My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our big sweetie pie, Claudia. We rescued this poor girl from Chicago's Animal Care and Control after she was found as a stray. She was obviously someone's dog, but was abandoned to fend for herself. We have a soft spot for elder-bulls, and with her sweet temperament, we knew she was coming home with us.

Claudia is great with other dogs (big and small), and happens to LOVE Zita, a chubby little mini-Claudia as a chihuahua who we rescued on the same day (as seen in the picture). We've also posted a video of Claudia playing with her pal Patty, a young daschund. Claudia has a huge fan club and is just a doll! We estimate her at about 8 years old.

Claudia is what we call a "move-in ready" dog: she would seamlessly fit right in with just about any family with very little training or obstacles. She is in a great foster home getting her readjusted to the joys of living with people who love having her around, and we've heard that she is just delightful. She hasn't had a single accident, never barks or growls, and just wants to be close to her new friends. Her foster mom recently sent us this update:

"We had some friends over the other night who had a 4 week old baby, and the parents who also have a dog were very comfortable with Claudia coming over and being near the baby and sniffing him...Claudia ended up laying next to the baby for the rest of the evening as if almost protecting him. It was very sweet. She is always so gentle, never growls or barks, just wants lots and lots of rubs and pets and most of the time she forgets her size and thinks she's a lap dog! We really love having her!"

We'll update Claudia's profile as we learn more about her, but in the meantime check out NLOL's facebook page for more pictures of her, or fill out an application to make Claudia a new member of your family!
