My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

location: Raleigh, NC
Clover is a spunky 2 year old Rattie, no bigger then a piglet, weighing in at only 7 pounds. She is bouncy and wags her whole body with delight when she sees her fostermom. Don't let her fool you though - she's feisty too, and can be protective when in her fostermom's lap, but let her loose and she's all wiggles. Clover loves to be held, and would make a great lap dog, but also loves to go outside and explore and play with other dogs. She needs a quiet home and an owner who will continue to work with her so she will be less fearful of new people. Clover does well with her other canine friends and the cats, but does like her space and is an alpha within her current pack. She should not be in a home with small children because she can be a little scared by their hugs, kisses, and noise. Clover typically prefers one female person to latch onto and call her own. She is an amazing little girl with a great big personality and has made it through a long "journey". She started out really shy and has opened up tremendously, considering all that she has been through. Clover needs someone who will let her sit in their lap and be held, but not
sheltered too much.... someone who will take her out to see new things. She also needs a "play pup" to have as a friend, and patience to continue to show her the world and let her know that people are not so bad after all. Clover's story starts at a puppymill, living in a cage, and then in a shelter under the court system. She has since won her freedom and has gone through successful heartworm treatment. She is doing very well with her housetraining and will use the
bathroom outside, and use the doggie door to go outside and play, but in her new home she will need to be shown where the potty is and adjust to the differences in the new home. She is one "lucky Clover", and we are sure she will warm your heart - just as she has warmed ours. Additional photographs of Clover can be seen here.
