My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WOOF! My name is Sophie! I was adopted from One Tail in November 2010 as a little puppy, but I need to find a new home due to some unforseen circumstances with my current family. I'm a pretty smart gal (I'm not lying!). I know sit, stay, come, down, and off. I'm housebroken and will do my business on command. I even go into bed when I'm told too! I'm crate-trained and like to enjoy a good chew toy while I'm in there. I've never been crated for more than 4 hours though (I need to stretch my legs!) and it would be cool to have a home where someone hangs out with me a lot during the day. I've gone to a couple training classes but it would be fun for me if you wanted to continue my training. I like to learn new tricks! I'd also love someone who could take me to the dog park a lot to play. I'm one of the fastest gals there and can run circles around the other dogs. I love when they chase me! I have a blast with the big dogs, but sometimes little dogs can annoy me a bit (I’m sure you understand!). I also like to swim and go for hikes (and equally love the car ride!). I’d be a great running partner too! I enjoy the great outdoors -- which is why I definitely want a home with a big fenced in yard for me to zoom around in (6 ft+ please) -- and to keep me away from squirrels and other little critters. I like to chase them. Whoops! It would be great if I found a new home with another big dog to play with and keep me exercised. But I'm not just all about dogs, I like people too! Some people think that I'm part human....I'll talk to you if I want to tell you something! I promise to bond with my new family and be your best friend. I’ll even sniff out visitors to make sure they’re ok. I like children, but with my quick movements, I don’t want to knock down little ones; kids 10+ are best for me. SO, all in all, I’m a pretty cool gal who wants to find a home where I’ll have fun things to do that will leave me tuckered out each day. Won’t you let me be part of your family?

As a legal MA rescue all of our dogs have been through the states mandated 48hr Isolation at an approved isolation facility and had a clean health exam by a MA vet. We then place our dogs in one of our many wonderful foster homes. Please be sure to read all the info below. We look for families who have the time and commitment to raise a puppy to be a great dog. All dogs adopted from One Tail at a Time Rescue are here in New England at foster homes, spayed or neutered, up to date with vaccines, have been wormed, and are ready to go to their new homes now. We prefer adoptive homes in MA and NH -- we do not ship our dogs. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION unless you are ready to take a dog home now. Even if approved for a specific dog, we will not hold dogs while you go on vacation or a business trip or prepare your home. Our dogs are being cared for in private homes by volunteer foster families. Appointments to see our dogs are scheduled once an application has been submitted and approved by our adoption counselors.
