My story

Hi, my name is Duffy and I am the only cat at the shelter to arrive riding in the front seat of a fire truck! I was homeless and wandered into the local fire station, but the nice firemen could not keep me since they already had a cat and are allowed only one cat. I am a very sweet and gentle cat who would love to be able to find my forever home. I am "special" because I am a diabetic and right now I require insulin 2 times a day. I am doing very well and as long as I eat and take my insulin I will be healthy and happy. Please call and ask about me-I will be waiting! You can reach us at 617-268-7800 to set up an appointment to visit me and all the other kitties.

We try very hard to find the perfect match for the cats and dogs in our care with the families who seek to adopt a new pet. ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE RESCUED FROM MASSACHUSETTS AND HOUSED IN MASSACHUSETTS. WE DO NOT "RESCUE" ANIMALS FROM OUT-OF-STATE- CATS AND DOGS DIE EVERY DAY IN MASSACHUSETTS. THEREFORE, WE SAVE AND ADOPT OUT ONLY LOCAL ANIMALS. You can visit our animals at any time and as often as you like, PRIOR to adopting. We are always in need of new temporary foster homes for dogs - every foster home means another dog saved. Our adoption process begins with a phone interview and after that we set up a time for potential adopters to come meet the cats or dogs that we think might be a good match.
