My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Madison is a true lady and sweet as pie! She came to us from a high kill shelter in the midwest, where her sunny personality had shelter workers searching frantically for the right adopter or a rescue before her time was up. Sadly, black dogs have less chance of being adopted at shelters. She was originally a stray, then adopted by a couple who left her alone in the yard all day & slept in a cold garage at night. When they decided to have a baby they returned her. Good riddance to them!! This lady deserves to be part of a family & an indoor dog.

Maddy knows sit, stay, shake and has impeccable manners. She is content to sleep on a comfy dog bed in your room or even in bed if that's OK. She loves walks, car rides and is one of those easy-going dogs that can join her humans wherever they go. Maddy's great with other dogs, big & small, ignores cats and is good with dog-savvy older children.

Madison's fur is silky-soft and you'll never get tired of running your hands through. She's got the shiny black coloring of a lab and her fur is not as long as a typical golden but a nice mix of both breeds, so easy to groom. She sure does love being brushed too. Maddy has the most beautiful silver on her face and other than that, a little bit of arthritis, or you'd never guess she's 9 years old. She is young at heart and has many years of love to offer some lucky adopter.

Won't you please consider opening your heart to this sweet girl?

Application & home check required; Adoption fee for Madison is $100. She is fully vetted, spayed, heartworm negative and had a complete dental/cleaning.
