FOSTER LOCATION: Kaysville, UT
Meet Monkey! He is a young, 1(ish) year-old, male, long haired Dachshund. His coloring is so different than anything I've seen. I've been told he is called a blue and tan, but sometimes he looks chocolate! He also has a bit of an over bite and a short tail! I guess he is just unique! This cute little guy was in the shelter and was very stressed out. He had chronic diarrhea and kept fighting with the other dogs he was kenneled with so he couldn't be put out on the adoption floor. That's where Fuzzy Pawz Rescue comes in! We went in and got him and are teaching him how to mind his manners. He does guard his food and bones, but it is something we are working on and he is already doing much better! He may always have to be fed separate from his other family members but he may just work through this. It will take some time before we will know for sure. We are working on potty training, he seems to understand the concept but isn't all the way there yet. He pulls a bit on the leash and doesn’t know many commands – he’s working on sit at the moment.
Here at his foster home, he is with humans, dogs and cats! There are four kids here, ages 8, 5, 3 and 1 and he is wonderful with all of them! There are three dogs he gets to hang out with. They are all large, but he gets along with them fantastically. He is a bit bossy once in a while but he's small, he has to get his way sometimes! Also we have two cats here. One is mellow and ignores Monkey, therefore Monkey ignores him. The other is high strung and hisses and throws fits when Monkey comes around him, therefore Monkey is VERY interested in him and follows and chases him around. So cats may not be the best idea unless they will just ignore him.
