My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have had Gatsby for a couple of weeks now and he has settled nicely into our family. On Gatsby’s visit to the vet, they estimated his age at 7 or 8 years but, after a major haircut and some slimming down, we think his age may be closer to 5. Gatsby is a tall, stocky boy who certainly has a lot of puppy spirit. He is a very playful, happy, energetic boy who loves to play catch, run with other dogs, or simply play toss and tackle with his own toys. He also gets along well with our two more "mature" Brits (though he's a little impatient that they don't want to play as often as he would like). His hunter instinct, however, comes out when he's around small animals, so he should definitely not be in a home with cats. He is also still learning his manners, but he's also proving himself to be a faster learner -- he barks when he needs to go out, he doesn't jump up as much as he used to, and he's learning that begging doesn't get him anything. He is house-trained and crate-trained. Given that he was a stray--and shown to be a good escape artist, a strong, high fence is a must for Gatsby. We don’t want his curiosity to get the best of him until he realizes that he is safe, and in his forever home.





History
Gatsby was picked up as a stray by animal control in central Maryland. Nothing is known about his background.
