My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy. My name is Reese and I’m 13 weeks old. My mom Molly showed up at a doorstep on the night of February 8th without any identification. Fortunately this home was a Labs and Friends nice person. Two hours later mom started having puppies! ELEVEN of them!! … And one was me. She's was a fabulous momma, a black Labrador retriever. Kind of embarrassing but we don’t know who my dad was. From the looks of me he probably was some kind of shepherd. Whatever, he gave me some smarts, not that my mom didn’t of course. Once I reached eight weeks old I was put up for adoption to find my perfect home. The nice people who have taken care of me did a great job including handling me on a daily basis so I’m very used to humans and very socialized.

I’m now with a foster family. My two foster sisters and my brother have been adopted. Now it is time for me to strike it rich.

Not to be immodest but I have been told that I am absolutely adorable, you be the judge. My personality is really really pleasant, I’m very smart and I love being around humans, especially when they pick me up and hold me … Wow, that’s great! I get along well with my big foster brother, a four year old Lab. I sleep all night in an enclosure inside the house and let folks know when I have to go outside. I’m really looking forward to being part of a loving family that will bring out my best qualities including intelligence and friendliness.

On a more technical note I’ve had two rounds of de-worming, three rounds of shots and am micro-chipped.

I will need to be neutered once I'm 6 months old. There is a $200 refundable neuter deposit required and my rescue will also pay for the cost of the neuter if you take me to our Vet in Los Angeles (near Pasadena). People who wish to be considered for a puppy should either 1) have another social dog if you are gone more than 6-8 hours a day or 2) be home most or all of the day if you have no other dog. Momma Molly is a pure bred Black Lab on the smaller side - around 60-65 lbs. but of course we don't know who "Dad" is. All the same, they are cute, socialized puppies that will make wonderful family pets should their training and socialization be continued. Adoption fee is $275.

If you wish to apply for Reese please email an application request to info@labsandfriends.org or go to our website @ www.labsandfriends.org and download an application. Applications can be emailed to the above address or faxed to 818-351-8148 (no cover sheet needed). Phone calls to answer questions about the puppies will not be returned unless you have filled out an application and sent it in. Please make all inquiries by email first. Thank you.
