Percival's Story...
4 year old long-haired beautiful tabby. Adopted 3 years ago then recently returned due to foreclosure of the home he was living in. He was shy as a kitten but is now very very shy - we suspect that a year in a home without water of electricity trying to avoid foreclosure then several days of hiding in a bedroom alone after foreclosure traumatized him to some degree. He's made progress in the few months since he has returned to us, but is still very shy. Surprisingly he seems to trust the normally exuberant resident dog and will even rub against her legs. But, he's still hesitant about trusting people. Needs a quiet and very patient household where he will be given the time he needs to feel comfortable and trusting again - and where he will be allowed to stay forever this time!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Percival, a Santa Rosa Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Santa Rosa, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Santa Rosa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Rosa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Rosa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Rosa paves the way for another one to be saved.
