Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pookah is approximately 6-7 years old and a Malamute Mix. We're not sure what he's mixed with, but we guess a number of different breeds. Pookah was transferred from another rescue, as they needed space. Pookah weighs approximately 80 pounds.
Pookah has been vet checked, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, neutered, and microchipped. Pookah is also current on his flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Pookah has also been recently groomed as well.
Pookah has been introduced to other dogs, large and small, and he's had no issues with any of them. He loves visiting the dog park and working off his excess energy by playing. He is also around cats and has no issues with them -- once in awhile he will chase them for fun, but he always backs away if they hiss and he never hurts them.
Pookah is friendly and loves attention, but can also be stand offish until he gets to know you. He is very well behaved around the kids and never had an issue, but he sometimes forgets he's a big boy and bumps the younger ones a little too hard, so a home with kids a little older may be best. Pookah is kennel trained and believed to be housetrained as well. You do need to watch him for marking though in a new area, but once you correct him, he's very good.
Pookah is pretty mellow, but definately has some energy. He needs a good long walk everyday or a good romp in the backyard/dog park. He loves to be close by and enjoys doing errands with his family. Pookah doesn't really play with the toys much, but he loves to chew on the rawhides. Pookah can be a runner, so he needs a home with a secure fenced in yard, or someone willing to keep him on the leash all the time. Pookah is working on learning commands - he's learned Come, Sit, and is working on down and speak. Pookah will make someone a wonderful companion if they give him the second chance that he's looking for!
