My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally's adoption fee is $475, this includes ALL necessary and age appropriate vetting, spay/neuter and transportation fees. Sally is being fostered in Mississippi, and will travel north to her forever home once adopted!

PLEASE complete an Application if you are ready to adopt! If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement! Thank you for your understanding and consideration and for helping the dogs and puppies in need!

IF you do not get a reply to your app or inquiry within 12 hours, please look in your spam or bulk folder.

5/6/12 - Meet Sally!

Sally is a darling, petite, 10 month old Black Lab. If you love the breed, but would rather not have the often 80+ pound size, this is most certainly your girl! Sally has a little growing left to do, but she isn't going to be a big girl. We estimate her adult size to be between 45 - 50 pounds .

Sally has a very sad story with a happy ending. She came into rescue pregnant (YES at 10 months of age!), and a trip to our vet and exam determined that her pups had not survived her rough life. Our vet performed a necessary spay right away, and Sally came home to recuperate. Three days later, she managed to get her stitches out, and for lack of a better way to explain it, she pulled the insides out. We rushed her back to the vet and she had her second emergency surgery in 3 days. Fortunately, we caught it right away, and she had not done any damage to her intestines or other vital organs. Our wonderful vet spent over 2 hours putting her back together again. She stayed at the vet's office for a week on antibiotics and fluids, and then came home to finish her recuperation. Through all of this, Sally just watched us all with trusting eyes and never lost her faith in us. Every time you approached her cage she wagged her tail and gazed up at you lovingly.

Sally has completely recovered from her ordeal, and has emerged into one of the sweetest, most loving dogs we've ever had the pleasure to foster. She loves everyone she meets immediately, and especially loves children. My 4 year old grandson is her favorite person in the world! She is also wonderful with other dogs, and loves to play. We feel she could co-exist with cats, as she is not aggressive with them, but with surely chase them if they run and seems unsure to what to make of them. She just needs to be taught how to interact with them.

Sally is spayed, microchipped, utd on routine vaccines, flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention. She must go to a home where she will live inside as an important member of the family. We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.
