My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi world - Im Kallie and Im a lil puddin!

Im about 1.5 years old, and an itty-bitty thing at approx 35lbs, be sure to watch my video to see how fabulous I am!

Im a silly girl, I love to roll over and get my tummy rubbed - I will also shower you with lots and lots of kisses - Im a super-kisser! Im not much of a ball dog because no one ever played with me, but maybe someday, Ill learn what it means to play and have fun with toys!

Im dog selective - so would need to be in a dog-free home, and I ignored kitties when we were introduced. I smile a lot, and Im a happy girl! Im very friendly and energetic, and Ill sit if you give me a cookie! Speaking of cookies, I take them very gently.

One thing you do need to know about me, is that I have mild to moderate food aggression. I love it when you hand feed me (you can see that on my video), but please dont reach into my food dish, or take something away from me that I am eating. We will need to go to training together so I can overcome this; and because kids are unpredictable and sometimes do things they are told not to, I should be in a home with older kids only.

I dont know how I ended up on the side of the road, but a man found me there and brought me to the shelter. I have a doggie friend here in my kennel who I get to live with - but I still really, really want a family of my own.

Im sure you see my scars on my head, face and legs. Before I was found on the road, the people who had me wrapped wire or a cord around my mouth so I couldnt open my mouth to eat, pant, drink water.... It hurt really bad because it cut into my flesh and I think it went all the way to the bone under my chin. The scars on my legs arent as bad, but when my legs were bound, I couldnt stand up or walk. It was pretty awful, in fact, it was terrifying and really really painful. Ive had a hard first year or so...

BUT....

That is OVER now, Im okay, and I AM ALIVE!

And, Im ready for a real home with a family who will love and cherish me forever. Im a happy, exuberant little girl, I love those fabulous tummy-rubs and especially kisses... and Im cute as a button! Will you help change my world?

Will you give me the love that I never got, and make sure I never again have to think about those people who hurt me so badly?

Ill keep smiling, and waiting, please dont make me stay here in this shelter kennel too long...

Love and kisses!
Kallie
