My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Northern California Weimaraner Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Please visit www.norcalweimrescue.org to fill out our on line Adoption Application. KORI, approx. 2 y/o female Weimaraner. Oddly, this sweet girl with an adorable spot on her chest and a long tail, was picked up as a stray and never reclaimed. She was very stressed in the shelter environment, and did not like being at the vet's, but she has fast become a more confident and happy girl in her foster home! Kori is hesitant about meeting new dogs and people, as it seems to be a new thing for her. But she gets more comfortable with it everyday, following her foster parents' leadership. Kori's desire to be accepted in a human/dog pack is very important to her, so she listens to corrections and tries to do the right thing. Kori loves riding in the car, and recently made her first trip to a dog park where she met several dogs and had a great time; she got so tired, she climbed into a stranger's lap to take a break. Kori likes to play with a tennis ball in the sprinklers, and even managed to get two in her mouth while showing off at the dog park. She is a silly girl! She will take dog beds or couch cushions and move them to a nice spot in the house to take a nap. Kori loves car rides, and has has learned good leash manners (even learned to trot alongside a bicycle), so getting her out and about for the daily exercise she must have, is easy. Her foster parents have enjoyed helping her, and watching her blossom, and is counting on her forever person to be patient with her as she adjusts to a new environment, but to keep the momentum of improvement going. Kori needs a home with structure, a routine and good leadership. She has some scars on her face and forearms that suggest she ran into barbed wire or bushes with thorns, but her vet does not believe they are bite marks. She also has a very wide chest which is a little unusual, but her vet does not believe it will give her problems. Kori recently tested heart worm negative, is micro-chipped, spayed and current on vaccines. In Brentwood. Contact norcalweimrescue@yahoo.com or 707-987-8572.
