My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a 3 year old purebred female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Her DOB is 7/11/03

Maggie was turned into an animal shelter by her owners and the shelter contacted us and asked us to take her into rescue.

The reason given is that she does not like groomers or vets and will nip at them and gets excited and barks when strangers are in her home.

On her surrender form they wrote:

"Maggie gets along with children, cats and other dogs. She likes to sleep with you. She knows how to sit, lay down, come when she wants to, say "kennel" and she will go right in. Say "house" to get her in the house. She loves to give Wheaten kisses!"

She is spayed, up to date on shots and is located in Little Chute, WI

March Update

Maggie's foster mom has been working with Maggie to overcome her fear of strangers and of having her head messed with which results in some aggressive behavior.

Maggie is going to the groomer for short sessions very regularly to work on desensitizing her in these areas.

She has come a long way but will need a owner who is aware of her issues and is willing to continue working with her to modify her behaviors and to keep her out of situations that cause the behaviors.

Due to her issues we will not consider a home that has children under 16 for this dog.

Obedience training will be a condition of adoption with Maggie as well.
