Baby Ruth is one of the puppies born to Olive, a black & tan dachshund just days after Olive was picked up as a severely ill stray.
Baby Ruth was our bonus puppy. Her mamma's pre-birth xrays showed her 3 siblings and then a possibly deformed 4th baby. This 4th puppy appeared headless on the film.. However, when her mom had her emergency c-section, Baby Ruth was our little surprise. (and per the vet she was very vigorous and loud!). Ruth was a bottle baby her first week of life (because of her mother's precarious health and many mammary tumors) but she then was looked after by a chihuahua momma who welcomed Olive's babies like her own.
Baby Ruth may be tiny but that doesn't stop her from trying to keep up with her big brother. Baby Ruth is almost half her litter mates size by weight. At 10 weeks Ruthie weighed 3lbs to their 5 lbs. Ruthie is a wee little girl whose dad was most likely a chihuahua and a different father than her siblings (yes a litter can have multiple fathers).
Ruthie loves playing with toys and being active but she is also so cuddly and sweet.Baby Ruth loves playing chase with her brother and can hold her own in their wrestling matches. She has the cutest little face with long ears. .
Ruth is spayed, micro chipped and current on her vaccinations.
Ideal Applicants need the following qualifications:
Someone at home most of the day or able to come home at lunchtime;' homemakers and folks who work from home would be ideal.
Another small dog for play and companionship.
A very secure indoor place for the puppy to be when no one is at home.
Applicants must be between 21 and 65 years of age.
No children under 8 years old in the home.
