My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

APOLLO our newest guest - is a charming, affectionate happy, little guy who is adjusting well to the other animals in his foster home. would do best with older "dog proofed " cats, a female feisty dog about his size or smaller, or as an only child.

He is available through no fault of his own, from a loving family that could no longer keep him. Seems to have no social or behavioral issues, is crate & house trained & is very smart. if you are looking for an agility, fly ball or earth event dog - this could be the one.

He is the most laid back JRT i ever met- he is not GO! GO! GO! nor has he been digging or trying to escape. He really is a very good boy, and loves affection & craves attention.
He REALLY is a very relaxed calm dog - especially for this breed. I have never met a better JRT in my life. ( or one more adorable!)

this is not a breed if you have small pets - such as bunnies, rodents etc as that is what these dogs are bred to hunt & kill. Most JRT's bear very little personality resemblance to "Eddie" from
" Fraizer " the TV show. But you could probably teach him a lot of what Eddie knew. this breed is not for everyone & should not be considered just for "cute".

He is VERY smart and highly trainable .

He has had some classes in basic obedience already ,

walks great on leash, and we are working with him on NILIF.( nothing in life is free" training.

Apollo needs to know he is NOT the "king" of the home. And will do best with owners that are aware how to love a dog yet not over spoil it till its running the home.

He is having no problems here at all- he knows where his ranking is and is accepting of that .

he does MUCH better with dogs about his size and is best friends with the 13.5 lb doxie here ( now adopted and gone ) & the 3 lb chi X - the larger dogs ( boxers) make him afraid , and he will growl at them , which will usually cause the bigger dog to start a fight, terriers do NOT Back down to fights.

He no longer will growl at the VERY large GSD, as the GSD told him in NO uncertain terms " you will NOT like the results of growing at me" the terrier was wise enough to respect that warning.

he has been accepted into the pack and no longer will growl at the larger dogs - but i still think he would prefer to be an only dog OR with a feisty female about his size to romp with.

he would be a god condo or apartment dog , he is not excessively yappy and walking a few times a day seems to be fine for him as long as he can play in the home.

he is rather exceptional for the breed as he really isnt showing most of the breed "issues" you usually see in the JRT's .

He is really a cool little, loving & affectionate dog & is searching for a loving forever home, will you be that home?
