Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ollie – male, vet checked, vaccinated to date, neutered, ~2yrs, ~17lbs, Corgi/Terrier.
Ollie has had a bit of a rough go lately. His first owner moved in with family and gave him away. His previous owner didn’t have him long before deciding he require too much exercise compared to the current Chihuahua mix in the home and for their life style and surrendered him to rescue.
Ollie is a sweet boy, very friendly with everyone he meets and always happy to play with a new dog. He is house trained and crate trained, he also knows some basic commands!
From Ollie’s foster mom: He plays hard then crashes hard…a good 30-40min or so of running with the Standard Poodle or playing with the kids and he’s pooped and ready to chill out quietly inside. He does get along well with the other dog even though she is huge beside him and he loves to play though takes a hint when she is done. He is a DREAM to walk, he walks so nicely and the kids are able to walk him without issue. Over all he’s a nice boy, could use a brush up on basic manners but friendly and gets along well with others. He’s going to need to find an active family to keep him busy and tire him out so that he relaxes when it’s down time.
Ollie would be great as a pal for another energetic dog big or small, ideally about his size and larger is fine. He is fine with kids but a home with children 6yrs+ is preferred because he tends to jump up. Ollie tends to chase cats so he is better suited to a feline free home. We’d love to see this happy go lucky boy in a home where there is another dog to play with and with an active family that can include him in all the activities like going to the kids sports games, walks to and from school and even going to the cottage. Don’t under estimate this little guys need for exercise. He might be a wee guy on short legs however being a herding type and terrier type mix he needs regular daily exercise. Ollie needs about a 45min walk in the morning and again in the evening to be a happy, relaxed boy in the home. He’d be a good little jogging buddy too. A tired dog is a good dog! Being a Corgi/Terrier mix makes this boy smart and energetic, eager to please and maybe a little stubborn at times…but he loves to get out with his family and other dogs, he likes to chase the ball or go on hikes with his family, if you’ve got fenced dog park near by it would be great for him to get out and run with other dogs regularly. Ollie would excel in further obedience lessons or in agility if one were interested in signing him up for classes. Ollie is a lovely boy waiting for the right active family to come along and give him a forever home. Oh, he travels well in the care! If you may not be able to dedicate the proper amount of time to exercise Ollie please do not apply, he is lap dog size but require much more exercise then the average lap dog… Ollie needs a house with a fenced yard.
