My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It has been almost a month since Puppers'-"Pup-pup" little accident and she is doing GREAT!!!!! Even with the bulky cast on her leg, she is still as lively and loving as ever. She acts as if she was not even hurt. I have to tell you she is just an amazing dog. She does great with the cats and kids and just everyone. She goes back the vet next week to get X-rays. Hopefully the bones are healing nicely and the pins can start being removed. She still has her boxer wiggle and will jump up on the bed every night. And of course she is still trying to box even though she has a "club" instead of her usual paw. Some of the dogs that have met her the past few weeks did not really care for it too much.

Any home that is interested in her MUST always have a harness on her while walking. She will listen as long as she is leashed but if she gets off leash she runs!!! A fenced in yard is going to be a must, especially if there are small children.

Pup-pup,"Puppers" is an absolute delight. She will be 6 this October, not that she acts like an older dog. She has been with me for a week now and I just love her. She does fine with the cats and the 6yr old child. Although I would put her with older children because she is strong and likes to run and jump, she would easily knock down a younger child. She is about 50lbs of pure muscle. She is up to date on all her shots and spayed. She can be crated and should be. Although she is good in the house she will counter surf and have accidents if left out. I give her a peanut butter Kong when I put her in the crate which she loves. She needs some work on leash walking and will run if off leash. I am working on both issues. The one time she got away from me she ran straight to a group of kids and they were able to hold her for me. She is living with a 4 yr old female boxer, Sadie, and does not seem to have issues with her. I can't say the same for Sadie. She likes to play and will keep barking and jumping to get a dog to play with her. She is so sweet but will stand her ground when provoked. She does great in the cars and at Petco. I will be taking her to doggie daycare this week to see how she does. She is missing an eye but it does not seem to bother her one bit. Puppers is just a bundle of love, full of wiggles and kisses. She is the most snuggliest and loving boxer I have ever fostered.

Pup Pup is a doll. Unfortunately her owners are moving all the way to California and want Pup Pup to find a home where she can get some more play time. She is only about 45 pounds. She is very gentle with the kids in the home and has lived with 5 cats and another large female dog. Despite the fact that when she first came home as a puppy (7 weeks old) she was bitten in the face by the other dog who did not want to share her food, Pup Pup is none the worse off for her temperament. She did lose her eye though. But she still gets excited when she sees other dogs on her walks and wants to play with them, and lived with that dog for three more years after the incident without any other problems. In her five years Pup Pup has managed to run out the door twice but luckily was found and returned to her owner. She would probably benefit from a home with a fence. She has never been crate trained or had to be home without a potty break for more than 5 hours at a time. She does make it through the night without any accidents. She will piddle when she gets excited while meeting new people when they pet her. So she will need a home that can either stop by for lunch or get a dog walker (like she has now) to let her out during the work day. She knows sit, stay, come and is very willing to please. If you think you can take the time to make her comfortable in her new home and want a dog that will lay around with you this is your girl.
