My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jacky – male, vet checked, vaccinated, heartworm tested (-), tx Revolution flea/heartworm preventative, neutered, ~5yrs, ~20lbs/15”tall, Terrier mix (Pug? Chihuahua?).

Surrender from private home. Jacky’s owners are devastated to have to part with such an amazing family dog after finding out that their young child has an allergy to dogs.

No one really knows what mix this cheery little guy is! Some sort of wiry coated Terrier mixed with possibly Chihuahua? Or Pug? Regardless, Jacky is a wonderful, social, friendly, easy going guy. He is 5 years young and past the challenging, destructive puppy stage of life. He is active but not hyper by any means and ready to go where ever with his family. Jacky is nicely mannered, doesn’t jump up and knows basic commands and walks very well on a leash. Once bonded to his new family (6-8months) he would also likely be fine off leash in safe areas (parks, dog parks, cottage etc). He is good with other dogs, canine savvy cats and respectful children of any age. He is used to living with a respectful young toddler and has spent lots of time around other respectful children in the family as well. This boy is house trained and is calm, clean and quiet when left alone, he does not use a crate and he prefers to have free roam of his home so he can just snooze on his dog bed. You can take this pooch anywhere from your canine friendly work place to the cottage, out for coffee on a patio or to visit grandma in the retirement home, he’s very friendly, quiet and good natured with everyone he meets. Jacky would be a great second dog or on his own. Being a Terrier mix Jacky likes to enjoy the outdoors with his family and needs a good daily walk, he also doesn’t like to “potty” in his own yard so he tends to like an early morning walk and an evening walk to the park or other green space to “do his business”, he has no problem popping out in the back yard for a quick tinkle or two in the day! Jacky also travels really well in the car. This pup is a fabulous family pet and any household is sure to enjoy this pups companionship. His photos don’t really do him much justice, you’ve really got to come out and meet him to appreciate his whiskery little face and his friendly disposition. Jacky would love to find a Forever Home in a house with a fenced yard.
