My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note: This sweet dog is a courtesy posting for an Independent Rescuer in our area. If you are interested in this cutie we encourage you to contact Marla directly at 517-548-1780. Or feel free to send her an e-mail at msswartz@chartermi.net

Lucy Lu was a rescued pup when she was 12 months old from a dangerous and bad situation,  Her previous owner gave her a wonderful home for many years but now the condo association won’t allow her to stay. She needs a strong man or couple with coon hound experience but she is very good with older or adult children. As she loves nature and being active, she may needs lots of room to spread out in.

But, as much as she enjoys her walks, Lucy is a real homebody, also. Her favorite way to pass time is being by your side and sharing your pillow at night. She doesn’t snore and has no interest in sports that involve guns (she is afraid of them).

Lucy Lu would love someone who’s home often and wants to spend a lot of quality time with her to help her work on her commands.  It’s breaking the previous owner's hearts that she can not remain their child, but she really needs a more appropriate home setting where she can spread out, and do what hound dogs do best.

Lucy loves her daily three walks a day and would need someone who can continue that with her.  She’s spent the past three years on Mackinac Island, so she’s not traffic or city savvy.  Great with other dogs, great with horses.  Cat’s not sure about as she hasn’t had encounters with any yet.

Lucy Lu will be faithful to the end; loves to put her head on your lap and would make a perfect companion for the right person.
