My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Meatloaf (a rather unfortunate name given to me by my former owner) and I am a 4 year old, medium size male shar-pei/shepherd/with a bit of chow thrown in there somewhere. Yes, I know there's no escaping my considerable charm and undeniable cuteness- I know it because everyone tells me so. My background was as the neighborhood dog that everyone loved and took care of because my previous owner basically ignored me and didn't take good care of me at all. So I made friends with everyone I met in the neighborhood who cared about me and got what I needed that way...but that's no way to live for very long. Eventually I found myself at the dog pound and my owner couldn't be bothered to pick me up. It's just as well, because I know I'm gonna have better luck next time around- with a real family who cares about me...my foster mom is going to see to it that I get the best life possible. I won't be treated that way ever again. I'm a very good boy with a heart of gold and deserve the very best home. I'm very affectionate- a "love muffin" my foster mom calls me- she embarrasses me that way. I do like other dogs, but I have to admit I've been a bit naughty at times getting into a few scuffles from time to time. I don't want to be seen as a total pushover with the other dogs. I haven't been tested around cats yet, though. I would love to have my own fenced yard to run and play in, but I wouldn't mind going for a long walk or a jog with you. Even better, I ride very well in the car- will even put my head on your shoulder while you drive, just in case you need some help. Can you be that special family I've been waiting around for so long? If so, please fill out an application at www.PeisandStrays.com. I am working on my housetraining (so I need some patience, please) and making progress, I am neutered and up-to-date on basic vaccines. Thank you for considering me!
