Rois's Story...
location: Tampa, FL
Rois (also known as Rio) is a very affectionate 6 year old, standard Rat Terrier. He is neutered and also house broken. Rois/Rio has attended obedience training and responds immediately to commands such as "stay", "sit", "down", "come", "bed", etc. He is very friendly with other dogs and loves to chase and play with them. Rois/Rio's speed and energy are like a Greyhound! He is very affectionate and loves cuddling up with people - and he gets along with cats. Rio loves playing with rubber toys and takes them into the yard to play and hide them. He is allergic to corn and wheat, so he is on a diet of holistic dog food and treats. Rois/Rio walks well on a leash and loves going for long walks. He will even let you know when he needs to go potty by barking once next to the front or back door! Rio is so well behaved and sweet that he would make the perfect buddy for anyone. Here are additional photos of Rois/Rio.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rois, a Jacksonville Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
