My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bio Update 7/25/13 - Hi - Sheba here.... I'm still looking for my very own home. I don't understand why no one wants me. Don't get me wrong, I love it here at my foster mom's house....but I really want a house of my own. I promise I am a good girl who is trying really hard to learn to do my business outside. I'm still pretty scared of people, but will come up to you if you put your hand out. I am not a barker and prefer a quiet house. Do you think I might be the one for you?

Bio Update 05/15/13: Sheba is a wonderful little girl who is learning to trust. She wants so badly to be around people and will come to be picked up. Sheba LOVES to run free so a fenced in back yard is a must for her. She is working on her house-training but will have accidents if you don't see her by the door to go out. She is a puppy mill survivor and has lived through some pretty bad times. If you are looking for a sweet little girl, Sheba could be the right one for you. Do you have room in your heart and your house for a very sweet girl?

Bio Update 04/21/13: Hi Everybody - Sheba here. Well, my foster mom has been so busy she forgot to write about me! She keeps calling me a good little girl - so I guess I am! Here is FM: Sheba is a very sweet puppymill survivor. She is still quite shy and afraid of loud noises. That being said, she really craves attention. Sheba will come and stand on her back legs and put her front paws on your hand when she wants to be picked up - so cute! Sheba loves to be outside but should be considered a flight risk as she will chase squirrels, birds and bunnies whenever given the chance. Sheba is working on her house manners and has the basics down, but doesn't know what to do if she gets the idea to go before she is taken out.

The best home for Sheba will be one that does not have children under the age of 10. She will need a fenced in yard - that is a must for her. Sheba gets along with other dogs, but doesn't like it when they first come out of the bath! If you think you are the perfect match for Sheba, please fill out an application and I'll be in touch soon.

Bio Update 1/20/13: Hi Everyone! Sheba here....Well, I am finished with my surgeries and am ready for lots of lovin'!! I am still afraid of people and loud noises, but will warm up fast if given a little bit of time to figure things out. My FM says I may have to have another surgery in the future if my mammary tumors grow some, but the vet doesn't think that will happen. I'm very excited about the news - I didn't like my surgeries! I like exploring in my yard and am trying to figure out how all the different things work - like birds and stufff. FM says I don't have a lot to say, but I keep trying to explain everything with my eyes! I think I almost have her trained to give me a treat everytime I look sad. Ha! My FM thinks she is training me....don't tell her, but I think she is learning pretty fast :-)

FM here: Sheba will need a fenced in yard. After years of being in a very small cage, she LOVES to run and deserves a place that is safe for her. She is coming along with her house training, but still has accidents. She is a wonderful little girl who wants only to be loved and be near her person. Because she is afraid of loud noises, and sudden movements, the perfect home will have no children under the age of 12. Thanks for reading about her~

Bio Update 1/3/13: Hi Everyone - Sheba here - well, my foster mom says that I can't be adopted out for a bit. They want to make sure they got all the mammary tumors. My foster mom said I might have to have ANOTHER surgery! Well, I know everyone is working hard to make sure I finally feel good and am healthy, so I will just continue to be a good little girl and say my prayers for my very own home soon. Thanks for checking up on me!!

Bio Update 11/23/12: Hey! I'm Sheba!! I'm a very sweet 7.3lb 8 year old little girl who just was granted a wish - to be free!!! I have never really been out of my little home before - My only real company were my puppies and wow, did I have A LOT of them. If you see any of them don't tell them this, but I'm sure glad that I am done with all that puppy stuff! I had a BIG surgery 2 days ago. I had LOTS of mammary tumors and needed to have 4 of my very ouchy teeth pulled. I'm sorta shy, but my foster mom calls me her love bug. I love snuggles!

Foster mom here: Sheba had a big surgery the other day and is recovering well. She hates the meds, but hey, don't we all??!! Sheba wants nothing more than to be loved. She has a very soft gentle disposition and would love to do nothing more than to be with her person all day. She does not cower like many mill dogs. If you put your had out, she will stand up and put both paws on your hand, her eyes speak volumes. Sheba wants so badly to be loved and wants attention. She does not want other dogs eating her food, but has no problem with my taking it or a bone from her.

The perfect home for Sheba: No children under the age of 10
Fenced in yard so she can run and play (SHe was in a cage for 8 years of her life - now it is time to run!)
Experienced yorkie owner

Sheba does like to mark her territory although that behavior has decreased a lot since her surgery. She loves going outside and has only had an accident in the house 1 time however she does mark. Her new family would need to keep working with her on her house manners while they smother her with love.

Sheba's wish is to have her very own home for the holidays. Could it be yours??

Initial Bio 11/11/12: Hi. My name is Sheba and I am a beautiful 8 year old, 7 pound Yorkie who was just released from a breeder in Iowa. I have spent all my life producing litters of puppies. I was a great mommy, but now I am ready for retirement. I am looking to live the good life in a home where I can be the only dog. I love attention and want it all for myself. I am very sweet and will go outside to potty, but you either need to take me out on a leash or have a very secure fenced-in backyard...or else I might take off and run like the wind. I only do this because I think it's a game, but please do not take any chances. I do not mind hanging out in a crate, as long as I can spend the rest of the time laying in someone's lap. As soon as I get spayed and get all my shots I will be ready for adoption.
