My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kuro Kuma (koodO koo-mah) is a 5-6 year old pure bred Black and Tan male Shiba Inu that was left with his mate and we believe his son and daughter in the overnight drop bin at Aurora Animal Shelter in Colorado. We have strong reason to believe that a breeder in the area left the dogs when they were no longer able to be bred and couldn't be sold. As a breeder dog that spent most of his life probably in a dog run outside Kuro can be shy in new situations but is coming out of his shell and ready for a forever family.

Kuro is doing great with potty training and learning to use a doggie door in his foster home. He doesn't always willingly go into his crate but he is quiet once in. He is great with other dogs and good with cats. Children may be too scarey for him but he does have the occassional grandkids visit his foster home and he tolerates them. If anything scares him he just avoids it, no aggression at all. He loves to come up when he was at my place and sit near me while I work on the computer and get petted. He would probably do best in a house with another dog that can show him the ropes. He is fine with chain link fencing and may be a good apartment dog but he is still learning the leash so probably not ready to be someone's running partner, just nice leisurely walks.

Kuro's adoption fee is $275.00 which includes his neuter, microchip, distemper, rabies and bordatella vaccinations, deworming and training class.
