My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We call Joanie " The Bear” for a reason: she’s as cute as a teddy bear and when she comes lumbering up all full of wiggles, she looks like a black bear running towards a berry patch. Joanie’s personality is larger than life. She is a lower-energy elderbull, but she celebrates dinner, and coming inside when it is cold out, and when you come home from work, and when you rub her belly.... Joanie celebrates life! She loves attention and will gladly roll over for a belly rub or turn into a pretzel for a back scratch.



Joanie loves all people, and does wonderfully with kids. She does need to be an only dog, but her desire to be close to you means that your life, and lap, will be full of entertaining Joanie moments. She is quick to learn and is working towards a Canine Good Citizen certification – and hopefully certification as a therapy dog. She attracts a great deal of attention because of her story, and she will be a wonderful pitbull ambassador.
