My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Such a pretty girl... that's what I hear them say about me. I am Bridget and the prettiest GERMAN SHEPHERD you have ever seen! I was born in 2007 so I am still a young lady but past the puppy stage. I heard them say I have the 'perfect Shepherd body style'...that means I have the classic black and tan markings with the tapered hind quarters.

I was surrendered to the Humane Society.... my previous owner was not loving, kind, or gentle with me. I had been physically neglected, I was anemic, and I had all the signs of physical abuse. The nice people here at the Humane Society have loved and cared for me and I am getting healthier and happier every day, and love to play with my boyfriend, Denver…I have heard the volunteers say that we are very sweet together.

When I first came, I would cower in fear and, if the nice shelter people touched me, I would cry loudly in pain. I still have several areas that are sensitive to their gentle touch but I am getting better. I get really nervous because, in the past, I couldn't trust anyone not to hurt me. The volunteers who come to walk me are showing me that the days of being afraid are in the past and that not all people are cruel. I am slowly learning to trust and they say that I am a PRECIOUS, SWEET GIRL, who should never have been treated so, that I should be loved and cherished and they will find a new family for me that will care for me forever.

I would love have a 'second chance' for a wonderful, loving home...if it is as safe as the shelter is, I know I can relax and trust people.    If you don't mind, you will have to be patient with me until I can forget the nightmares of the past.    They say I will do best in a home with adults only and no cats, please.  Each day my life improves and, when you adopt me, I know that I will live happily ever after. You will treat me gently, spoil me, protect me, give me a warm bed, lots of healthy food ....and most importantly, you will love me forever as SWEET Bridget, your forever fur friend.
