Do you like stories that end with 'happily ever after?' Then you will love my story, because it is truly a CINDERELLA story. I am Bella, which is French for the word beautiful... and each day, I am becoming more and more beautiful as I get healthy. I am a BLACK LAB MIX and like Cinderella, I have had a very DIFFICULT and sad life. The family I lived with did not love me or even care if I lived or died. I was kept in a pen, not fed nor given water. I don't know how long I survived like that but I struggled and struggled to get free. I finally CHEWED my way through the pen and to freedom! And then I ran and ran trying to find someone, somewhere to please help me. I was VERY WEAK and I just kept going, hoping and praying that I would find someone. I did see some people, but they just kept driving and ignored me.
I must have a guardian angel because I wandered onto a golf course and straight to two of the nicest men in the world. I was begging someone to help me….I jumped into their golf cart and laid down beside them. I was so SCARED AND TIRED. They could tell I was sad, so very thin, hungry, thirsty and in dire need of help. And do you know what... one of the men's wife is in charge of adoptions at the shelter!!! Talk about my guardian angel leading me to someone to help me!!! Wow - I hit the doggie jackpot! They took me to her and she gave me food, water and a safe, warm place to rest. And she was so kind and loving to me..... I didn't know people could be like that. Next I went to the vet. The vet just shook her head..... she felt so sorry for me. I had been so neglected that I had never had any shots, preventative medicine or medical care. They took care of my many medical problems and now I ready for a new forever home and family. My teeth looked like they had been filed down from chewing the metal pen .... so it is hard to know exactly how old I am, but they tell me that they think I am an older girl, a SENIOR IN HER GOLDEN YEARS.
I feel like the LUCKIEST girl in the world...... everyday is a new beginning for me now! I am so thankful for the people who saved me. They have GIVEN ME THE HOPE that I can have a happy life..... a life where I can have food, water, a warm place to sleep, medical care and ...... the chance of finding a loving family. This is such a dream come true.... me, Bella, turning into a real life Cinderella! Do you have room in home and heart for me...... I can't believe that this kind of happiness is really possible. Please come see me... they say I am one of the sweetest girls in the world. When I come to your home, you will have my total devotion....... and I will live 'HAPPILY EVER AFTER!'
