My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Willa and I am an absolutely beautiful young LAB mix. I have the sleekest, shiniest black fur with a white chest and little white 'slippers' on my feet! I was born approximately 12/22/2010 and I am ready to come to your house and be your very special and loving puppy girl. My brothers and I were left in the woods all alone when we were very little and we were sooo scared, COLD, and hungry! We were so lucky that a very nice man found us and took us home with him... we would have died if he had not found us that day. We were crying and he heard us. He was so kind to us... he gave us food, water, and a warm, safe place to sleep! We stayed with him for awhile and we learned all about people... they call that socialization! We discovered that most people are wonderful and we really like to be with them! We also learned to sleep in a crate and we loved all of the attention for doing a good job! I heard the nice man and the nice people here at the Humane Society say that I seem to be the SHY one, but I am just fooling them into giving me more attention, I'm no dummy! I have been told that I walk nicely on a leash and am a real SWEET girl. I have a special friend that has been coming to the kennel and working with me and she tells me that I am super smart, she has taught me the basic commands of "sit" and "come", but I sometimes get distracted by all of the other dogs and noise here and have trouble concentrating…but she tells me that is fine and she knows how intelligent I am, I sure like her! She walks me by the cats here and she said I would do fine in a home with cats. She tells me that labs are great family pets with wonderful dispositions and she wants me to have a home where I can gets lots of attention and love, she said I certainly deserve that! I hope so!!!! One of my brothers has been adopted already...just me and my brother, Wiley, are left and golly, we really want to be like our brother...you know, in a home with a family, people to hug and cuddle with me and call me their baby girl. I'm Willa...will you be my new Mom or Dad??
