My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Im Austin! And, boy, am I cute! Im still a young boy, born in 2009. I am part MOUNTAIN DOG and part hound. I think Im just 100% lovable! I am tan with some white and strawberry spots. The nice people at the Humane Society rescued me from a very neglectful home... they found me tied to a tree. Since I came to the shelter, everyday I have a nice warm, dry bed to sleep in that is not outdoors and I get fed every day. This is really special to me because, in my first home, no one took care of me and I was hungry most of the time. I was SO HAPPY when they found me! I have gained some weight and I am a healthy boy now! My fur is just beautiful and SOFT, if I do say so myself! I am HOUSETRAINED and I love to go for walks with the volunteers. I get so excited when I first see them and, sometimes, I forget that Im not supposed to jump. But Im just so happy that they will walk me, hug me and feed me dog cookies! After I have walked a bit, I settle down and then remember not to jump. Sometimes, we go walk by the cats; Im not really interested in them. I LOVE hugs, kisses and petting. I just love attention! But, no one has come to take me to my forever home yet... and this breaks my heart. I see them take other dogs home... I wonder when my new people will come and take me to my forever home. I get so excited when I see them coming... hoping and praying with all of my heart that they will choose me. I don't know how to act as if I don't care or how to be 'cool and calm' about it... it means so much to me. If you would like to have a fun, cuddly, new fur friend who will be FOREVER GRATEFUL and loving, so eager to please . then I know I must be the guy for you!!! Im looking for a new forever home with a forever family. me , Austin, the sweetest boy in the world.
