My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I am Sassy....funny name for a girl who is very, very shy. I was born in about 2003 and they say I am a COLLIE mix. I have mostly dark black hair with some brown. Collie's have lots of beautiful fur and I hear everyone say that I am such a GORGEOUS GIRL! I really want to have someone love me. It is so hard for me to come and sit by you or come and get petted.... you see I am very AFRAID. When I see people come look for their own very special dog to adopt, I get so excited on the inside. I want so much to be an extrovert like some of my friends, I won't mention any names..... and run up to greet them. However, I get overlooked many times, because of my shyness. I do have one special friend at the shelter who has been loving me for about a year. She will come in my kennel and sit on the floor and I have learned to TRUST her. I let her pet me.... boy is that nice! I think if you would come and let me get to know you slowly, that we could be friends too. I so want to have a forever home. . I know that the volunteers all love me... they give me cookies! And, they give me big haircuts in the summer to keep me cool! If you would like to come meet me, perhaps we could spend some time together getting to know each other. It sure would be nice to have a special friend who is willing to give me the time I need to learn to trust and love them.....I've seen it happen here and I've been waiting along time for my turn!
