My story

Harlan was rescued from the expressway by a volunteer who stopped to help him. He was in terrible condition with a bad case of mange and very underweight. He is the nicest dog with a great temperatment. He loves to be with people and get lots of attention. He still has fur missing from his coat and is still on medication for the mange. It will take a while for his hair to grow in but hopefully more of it will in time. If you can look past it you will find a very unique dog with a desire to please you and be your devoted friend, Harlan weighs 64 pounds. Birth date 8/13/11

Why adoption is a great option

Harlan-Adopted!, a Detroit Shar Pei/English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei/English Bulldog for sale in Detroit, or seeking a Shar Pei/English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Detroit.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Detroit already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Detroit breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei/English Bulldog breeders who help with Shar Pei/English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Detroit paves the way for another one to be saved.
