My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***SPECIAL NEEDS***

This lady is Marlie. She is a pure bred Black Lab a little over 5 years old. She was being used to produce "Bulladors" (they were breeding her with American Bulldogs) for pet stores. She isn't quite a Shiba but she was in danger of having no one bid on her (something that makes her fate questionable). So for $10 we took her home. And look how happy she is! We chose the name Marlie from Marley and Me (but had to feminize it ya know) because she was the "clearance puppy". Now Marlie is ready to find her forever home!

Marlie is very affectionate but is also completely if not almost completely blind. She follows the sound of people's voices with a cautious gait but a wagging tail and she is very food motivated by things like bits of sausage or hamburger so clicker training would be great for her.

Marlie is doing well with potty training and also crate training. She is totally quiet in the crate but sometimes needs some help going into the crate since she can't see. Feeding her in the crate definitely helps.

Marlie is great with men, women, children, dogs and cats. She loves walks or just lounging for pets. She is not an escape artist so simply chain link fencing is fine to keep her in. I would only recommend an apartment if it is the bottom level as Marlie is still learning how to go down stairs (up she is vastly improving on).

Marlie's adoption fee is $175.00. It includes her spay, a surgical dental, deworming, distemper and rabies vaccinations, microchip and a private training session with our Director who is an accredited Dog Training Instructor.
