Elliot's Story...
Elliott, a 7 month old Shepherd Mix, is a very sweet boy! He loves to play with other dogs of all sizes, kids, toys, rocks, bugs…whatever! He is a typical puppy. A little on the shy side, Elliott quickly warms up to everyone he meets, human or dog. There’s not a mean bone in his 45lb body! He knows how to sit & lay down, is crate trained and does well when left in the yard to play.

Elliott is the sole survivor from countless litters produced at this one property in the Fifth Ward. He and his mom lived in an overgrown yard and kept to themselves, under the house, in order to avoid human contact…a survival instinct in this area! They had to endure rocks & sticks being thrown at them and when Elliott finally came up with bullet wounds, we knew we had to get him out of there immediately! He is fully up to date on all shots, neutered and fully recovered from his wounds. Watching him enjoy life, you’d never know the horrors he’s had to endure in such a short time.

Elliott would LOVE to go home with you and make you happy for the next 10-15 years! If you are interested in him please go to our website at and fill out an adoption application or email his foster dad at Be sure to specify that you are looking for Elliott!!! Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elliot, a Houston Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
