My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a wonderful, sweet and friendly dog, with classic Newfoundland good looks and gentle disposition. He is 2 years old and he weighs about 115 pounds, with a glistening black coat and a small patch of white on his lower chest and front feet. He has the typical large Newfie head and muzzle, and will drool when excited.

Max is not aggressive, although he needs additional training when on the leash or when first meeting other dogs. Max will do best in a home with out other dogs. He has shown to be an intelligent big boy who is ready and willing to learn. He has been friendly with our cats. As is the case with other big Newfoundlands, it would be best if he were adopted by someone with the experience and means of properly raising Max.

Max absolutely loves to take car rides and to go on walks. I would suggest anyone looking to adopt would be prepared to insure he gets plenty of exercise. He also loves to be outside, and has greatly enjoyed lying on our back deck. If he is kept inside too long, he will let you know he wants to go out. He has howled at times, but I feel this is just been a reaction to being relocated and is not a real behavior problem.

In short, Max is a great dog and will be an excellent companion for some lucky person.

Max is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and he is on heartworm preventative.

Our adoption fee is $300.00. A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.
If you plan on submitting an application and you are out of our region, once your application is approved we require that you come to our area to meet the dog and foster family. If that goes well you will be able to take your Newfie home with you.
