My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What would you do if you found 6 week old puppies? Little ones--just weaned--but still weak and wobbley and only interested in food and sleep and playing with their litter mates? And what if you found those puppies alone, outside, in the winter? What would you do? What could you do?

We know what evil people can do with puppies in the city. So we took them in. No questions asked. Nothing is going to happen to this bunch. We scooped them up and took them to a safe place, where they could be warm and fed. And here they are--all 4 of them, 2 girls and 2 boys--growing, playing and living in a house with other dogs and people who care about them.

At their age it is hard to determine what their breed is. The vet’s best guess is Shepherd and Akita with a whole lot of cute mixed in. They are furry like Akita puppies with curly tails and coloring and markings of a Shepherd. They are growing fast! Once it didn't look like they had a future--now there's no limit!

Lea and her litter mates Gabby, Gabe and Leam were born on November 9, 2012. Lea is the leader of the bunch. She is the first to explore new things and the others will follow. She is one very smart and happy puppy. She is so fun to watch with her fuzzy body and curly tail bounce around playing with her toys, litter mates and foster brothers. She likes to distract the others and steal their toys and start a fun game of chase.

To help Lea get acclimated to her new home, the adoption fee includes 1 complimentary training session with the rescue’s trainer.
